Welcome to the Education section of our new website.
On this section of the website you will find information on exams, fees, Finance, exams, class reps as well as the SU grinds register. If you have any problems or questions about the academic side of life in GMIT, you can contact me by phone or email.
My name is Victor O’Loughlin and I am the Deputy President for Education with GMITSU this year. I recently graduated with a level 7 degree in Applied Biology and Biopharmaceuticals. I look forward to working with and for each and every student in GMIT this year.
I would consider myself a very friendly and active member of the Students’ movement and I’m driven to encourage all students’ to take part in the student movement. This year I would like to be a strong voice for the Student movement and represent my constituents with pride.
My role is to aid students’ with their academic problems; be it with lecturers, exams, results, SUSI grants or sitting on college boards and committees that will have an active effect on students’ lives in the college.
I am also tasked with running the class rep system. Class reps are the backbone of the Students’ Union and without their representation we would not be able to function. Class reps are elected by you, the students, in your own individual classes to represent your own individual class needs and if you feel like you have the voice and drive to speak up for your class’s interests, become your class rep!!
If you have any questions or need advice don’t hesitate to drop to the office and ask for either Aaron, Emma or myself. We will be more than happy to help in any way possible.
Is mise le meas,
Deputy President for Education
