Welcome Back

Welcome back to all of our students after the Christmas break! What a welcome it was with #StormBrendan hitting Galway over the past couple of days and nights. We’d just like to take the time to give you a quick look at some important events that are coming up in Semester Two.

SU Elections
In the coming months you will start to see advertisements centred around running for SU Elections. Currently, as a refresher, this is our SU Team

What you may not already know is that every year we run elections for these positions which are all full-time and paid roles. Keep an eye out throughout campus and online for more details or email the SU General Manager with any initial questions you may have on ruth.merrigan@gmit.ie

The Sports Awards

Over the past couple of years we have held a night to celebrate the achievements of the teams in GMIT. Although what form it will hold this year has yet to be announced, it’s always a special occasion to look forward to! Of course, all of our teams will be getting back up and running in the coming weeks. If you have any interest in joining them, be sure to email molly.dunne@gmit.ie

Endless events in The Róisín Dubh

Our partnered bar, The Róisín Dubh, has an endless stream of upcoming events for you to choose from including bands, comedy acts and of course, their world famous Silent Disco.

This semester you can choose from the likes of Jack Dee on February 11th & 12th, Bingo Loco on February 1st and Mac Fleetwood on March 14th. You can pick up tickets to all of their events from the SU.

Of course, these are just some of the events that we will be running. You can expect a whole lot more including Welfare and Education Campaigns, fundraisers, talks, workshops and more across our 5 campuses.
